Work has started on site for the development of 22 new homes in the picturesque Nidderdale village of Dacre Banks. Joint venture partners Gregory Homes and Ridgefield Property have also revealed how the scheme will look with specification and price details.
The Partnership is building a selection of two, three and four bedroom family houses on the 2-acre site on Church Hill, next to the River Nidd. It has already received unprecedented interest as the scheme is located in an area recognised as an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’.
Andrew Foggitt, Development Director at Gregory Homes said, “We are pleased to be able to progress this development so quickly and the strong interest from buyers is no surprise given the current lack of new family homes in the Yorkshire Dales. Indeed, the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority has recently urged more commitment to the delivery of new homes within the protected park as the current housing crisis continues to cause a mass exodus of young families from the area.
“Church View contributes greatly to the Authority’s target to deliver 55 new homes within the boundary each year and will offer a select number of family homes of traditional character and in keeping with the local environment.”
As part of the development, the partnership is supporting the local area through Section 106 contributions. This includes over £35,000 to upgrade Dacre and Hartwith Village Hall and over £8,000 contribution to outdoor sports facilities in the form of improvements to Darley Head Cricket Ground.
Properties at Church View will be released for sale early next year and the first phase ready for occupation by Spring 2018. Prices will range from £250,000 to £400,000. Gregory Homes is a part of the long-established and award-winning Gregory Property Group which has achieved an outstanding track record in delivering sustainable property developments across the North of England for more than 30 years.
