Sell out prompts next phase at new yorkshire dales homes development
The second phase of new houses at Church View in the Nidderdale village of Dacre Banks, North Yorkshire, is under construction following the successful sell out of all eleven homes in phase one.
Developers Gregory Property Group and Ridgefield Property have appointed a Leeds firm C & AJ Marshall as Main Contractor which has already started work at the picturesque spot.
The partners, which are both recognised for developing smaller clusters of bespoke homes in select locations, are building a further eleven houses on Church Hill, close to the River Nidd and in a region formally recognised as an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’. Five of the eleven homes in phase two have already been reserved leaving two four bedroom semi-detached and four, four-bedroom terrace properties left for sale.
Andrew Foggitt, Development Director at Gregory Property Group said, “We are delighted to be able to start on site for the delivery of our second and final phase at Church View. The work involved in this initial preparation stage allows distanced and safe working conditions for our teams and so we remain committed to deliver new housing that is much needed in the area.”
There is currently a major shortage of new homes in the Yorkshire Dales and the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority has urged more commitment to the delivery of houses within the protected park as the current housing crisis continues to force people out of the area.
Foggitt continues, “We have seen a lot of interest in the development, particularly amongst downsizers and empty nesters but Church View is also an attractive option for first time buyers, where Help to Buy is available, as well as those seeking a second home in the country.”
As part of the development, the partnership is supporting the local area through Section 106 contributions. These include over £35,000 to upgrade Dacre and Hartwith Village Hall and over £8,000 contribution to outdoor sports facilities in the form of improvements to Darley Head Cricket Ground.
