Local Construction firm site manager wins award of excellence for Embsay housing development
The director of Silsden based housing developer, Snell Developments Ltd has won a prestigious National House Building Council award for the quality of the company’s new homes at Laurel Croft, Embsay. He will automatically join the race for the Seal of Excellence and Regional Awards in the next round of the NHBC selection process, with winners due to be announced at the virtual regional award ceremony on 16th October.
Andrew Snell of Snell Developments Ltd was one of only 450 site managers selected from 11,000 UK builders this year for a Pride in the Job Quality Award, for his work on their 9 home development at Embay, Skipton, North Yorkshire. This is the 3rd time in 4 years that Andrew has a received this award.
The family-owned housing developer has already sold all the homes at its Laurel Croft site and is now building homes at Lumb Mill Farm, Glusburn, as well as at Cobbydale Way in Silsden.
The three and four-bed homes built by Snell Developments are of outstanding quality and characterised by their natural stone, high specification interiors, Indian stone-flagged patios and drystone walling.
Andrew said: “I’m pleased that the consistent high standards of our work have, once again, been recognised by the NHBC. I thank my brother and parents as well as our long-standing and loyal staff, whose hard work and attention to detail allow us to maintain our quality reputation and deliver such great homes. I’m extremely pleased that this is our third award in the last 4 years.”
Independent sales agent, John Shaw FRICS, said: “A Pride in the Job award is the highest industry accolade a site manager can receive. The NHBC says it represents success for the site manager, their team and associated trades – but most importantly, homeowners who buy a Pride in the Job winning home benefit from a high quality product. We know house hunters won’t be disappointed.”
The Snell family have been undertaking housing developments since 1977 with Andrew’s parents starting the business and eventually passing the reigns to Andrew and his brother John. Other recent developments include St Johns Croft, Cononley, North Yorkshire and Moor Lane Croft in Addingham, Ilkley, West Yorkshire.
